Plumbing Technology, CD

The Plumbing Technology credit diploma is designed to give individuals the opportunity to acquire skills to assist with the installation and repair of plumbing systems in residential and small buildings. Students are introduced to diagrams, interpretation of blueprints, and practices in plumbing assembly. Students will gain knowledge of state codes and requirements.

Completion of the Industrial Systems Technology credit diploma is required for enrollment in Plumbing Technology credit diploma courses.

Competencies


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using various techniques in accordance with national standards.
  2. Demonstrate installation of pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and appliances.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of blueprints and drawings.
  4. Detect and locate leaks in plumbing.
  5. Accurately document detailed records of work assignments.
