Network Administrator (CCNA), CD

The Network Administrator (CCNA) credit diploma is designed to provide students with the necessary skills in Cisco Networking Technology and network security fundamentals to prepare students to take the Cisco certification for CCNA and CompTIA Security+. Students must have completed the Datacenter Specialist Credit Diploma or have a minimum of (3) years of industry experience and the CompTIAA+ certification.

If students choose to transition to another program within the Information Technology pathway, they should be particularly aware of the choice points that indicate when a decision to branch off into another program must be made to ensure credits and time are not lost.

Competencies


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Explain the role and function of network components and network topology architectures.
  2. Configure and verify VLANs spanning multiple switches, layer 2 and layer 3 protocols, and wireless architecture.
  3. Configure and verify IPv4 and IPv6 static routing.
  4. Configure and verify NTP operating in client and server mode.
  5. Define key security concepts (threats, vulnerabilities, exploits and mitigation techniques).

First Semester

  • Enter the job market or continue working on Information Technology, AAS or Cybersecurity, AAS.

Milestones


  • Completion of Network Administrator (CCNA), CD.
  • Eligible to sit for COMPTIA Security + and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) industry certifications.

Semester Total: 16 Credits
