Cybersecurity Professional, CD

The Cybersecurity Professional credit diploma prepares the experienced network professional or student for an entry-level career in cybersecurity. Students gain critical intermediate cybersecurity skills, certifications, and experience in pursuit of the degree, while also contributing to the Cybersecurity AAS. Focusing on network defense, practical application, database protection, and computer forensics, the graduate gains applicable industry skills. Students should complete prerequisite coursework or have equivalent knowledge from the Network Administrator Credit Diploma before starting this degree. If students choose to transition to another program within the Information Technology pathway, they should be particularly aware of the choice points that indicate when a decision to branch off into another program must be made to ensure credits and time are not lost.

Competencies


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the context of computer technology.
  2. Apply information security techniques to defend business assets from loss.
  3. Demonstrate effective management of operating systems in relation to security techniques and considerations.

  • Eligible to sit for Cisco CCNA Cyber Operations Certification.
