ENGL 1010 - English Composition I

Students will write essays using a process that includes assignment analysis, topic generation, academic research, analytical reading, pre-writing organizational strategies, and multiple drafts with substantive revisions. Students will learn to find credible sources; to synthesize information from different sources; to integrate source information with original ideas; to write with logical organization and awareness of audience and purpose; and to avoid plagiarism through in-text citations and appropriate bibliographical information. Students will also learn to use information in an ethical manner appropriate for a college setting.Credits: 3

Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 0810 or equivalent placement.
