AGRI 2040 - Agriculture Traceability and Sustainability


Through this course, students explore the intricate relationship between traceability and sustainability in agricultural practices. Students will explore how traceability systems contribute to the attainment of sustainable agriculture by ensuring transparency, accountability, and ethical standards throughout the supply chain. Through a blend of theoretical frameworks and practical applications, students will learn to leverage traceability technologies such as blockchain and GIS to monitor and enhance sustainability initiatives. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the role of traceability in promoting environmental stewardship, resource conservation, and ethical production methods. By analyzing case studies and engaging in hands-on exercises, students will develop the skills necessary to implement effective traceability strategies that support long-term sustainability goals in agriculture.Credits: 3
