AMST 2110 - Cultural Diversity in America Credits: 3 This course is designed to examine multicultural relations in the United States by exploring how common elements of humanity bind together individuals and groups of people. Students gain an understanding of issues related to social interaction, the concept of race, social class, age, gender, sexual orientation, and the sociology of minorities. Students also acquire an awareness of the constraints and motivations of many diverse populations including Native Americans, Hispanic-Americans, African-Americans, and Asian-Americans.
Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 810 or equivalent placement.
