NURS 1200 - Professional Nursing Care of the Patient With Chronic Illness Credits: 10 Students are introduced to the patient and family with chronic illness using the concepts of health promotion, safety, clinical judgment, leadership, patient centeredness, and professionalism. Students use caring behaviors, therapeutic communication, and advocacy when providing care to patients with chronic illness across the lifespan. Students identify the roles and values of the members of the interprofessional health care team. The patient and family lived experience is emphasized.
Prerequisite: Completion of NURS 1100 .
