The AS Psychology program is designed for students who wish to explore and prepare for a wide range of career options in social and human services fields. Students explore a broad range of psychological fields, including child development, abnormal behavior, human social functioning, the study of the brain, and research methods. Students also engage in an array of assignments and activities designed to bring course concepts to the real world, including writing case studies of abnormal behavior, engaging in child observations, and performing an original research study. Completing this AS degree may qualify students for an entry-level position. 

The competencies of TREX 2000  are embedded into this program to ensure students benefit from and complete the requirements of the Transition Experience prior to graduating from LCCC.

Transfer Information

The AS Psychology program offers coursework intended to transfer to a four-year university, allowing students to purse a bachelor degree in Psychology or Social Work. For optimal employment opportunities, bachelor and graduate level degree attainment is recommended.

LCCC courses may transfer to institutions in addition to those with formal articulation agreements. Students are strongly encouraged to determine the degree requirements and transfer policy of the specific college/ university and program to which they plan to transfer.
