The Medical Assistant Credit Diploma program is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel as medical assistants in various healthcare settings. This program combines theoretical learning with practical, hands-on experience to prepare graduates for a successful career in the medical field. Graduates of the Medical Assistant Credit Diploma program will be competent in both clinical and administrative tasks, with additional certification in phlebotomy and Electrocardiography (ECG). They will be prepared to work effectively in various healthcare environments, contributing to patient care teams with professionalism and ethical practice.

Competencies


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate competency in a range of clinical procedures in medical assisting, while maintaining a sterile environment, applying infection control protocols and patient safety. 

  2. Perform various administrative tasks in medical assisting, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and effective communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals. 

  3. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
