Diesel Technology Service, CD

The Diesel Technology Service program is designed to prepare students for employment in the diesel industry and/or heavy equipment industry. This one semester program is complimentary to the Diesel Technology Fundamentals CD and focuses on other aspects of the industry that technicians regularly face in the areas of brakes, suspension, steering, drive trains, hydraulics, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Together, the two Diesel CD’s serve as foundation toward employment in industry.

Competencies
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: - Prepare for ASE Entry Level Certification in the area of Medium/Heavy Truck for industry recognized credentials for Brakes, Suspension & Steering, and Inspection & Maintenance and Minor Repair.
- Develop diagnostic troubleshooting techniques using information systems.
- Demonstrate the ability to work and adhere to standard shop operations, processes and safety procedures for the diesel and/or heavy equipment industries.
- Prepare for transition into the workplace or pursuit of additional education.
