The Information Technology program is specifically designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in fields related to Information Technology. The curriculum offers flexibility in meeting students’ career needs. This program of study leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology. Students can earn various credit diplomas and stackable industry certifications while concurrently earning an AAS.

Competencies
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate appropriate use of system software in computer technology.
- Design system software for a defined user group.
- Select hardware and software applications specific to the needs of various user groups.
- Identify needed changes in hardware and/or software use necessary for efficiency.

The Information Technology degree is intended to give students the academic coursework helpful in obtaining potential jobs. Possible careers in or related to Information Technology include Computer Support Specialist, User Support Technician, Information Technology Specialist/Technician, Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, and Infrastructure Administrator.

Transfer Information
This degree is well suited for those who may be interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science, Applied Management degree at Laramie County Community College.
LCCC courses may transfer to institutions in addition to those with formal articulation agreements. Students are strongly encouraged to determine the degree requirements and transfer policy of the specific college/university and program to which they plan to transfer.
