The Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity program prepares students for a career as a cybersecurity professional by providing them the knowledge and skills needed to defend information technology assets. Students develop and apply skills in intrusion prevention, analysis, response, and remediation to safeguard information while earning industry-recognized certifications by vendors such as CompTIA, Cisco, and Microsoft.

If students choose to transition to another program within the Information Technology pathway, they should be particularly aware of the choice points that indicate when a decision to branch off into another program must be made to ensure credits and time are not lost.

Competencies


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the context of computer technology.
  2. Apply information security techniques to defend business assets from loss.
  3. Demonstrate effective management of operating systems in relation to security techniques and considerations.

  • Completion of Datacenter Specialist Credit Diploma
  • Eligible to sit for COMPTIA Security + and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) industry certifications.

  • Eligible to sit for PenTest+ (Hacker Certification) and Managing and Maintaining Microsoft Servers industry certifications.
  • Completion of Network Administrator (CCNA) Credit Diploma.
