CRMJ 2220 - Criminal Law II


Credits: 3
Students examine the basic individual rights protected under the United States Constitution and how these rights come into conflict with the maintenance of public order and the enforcement of the criminal laws of the United States and individual states. Topics include an overview of the criminal court system and the arena in which legal conflict is resolved, law of arrest, search and seizure, confessions, pretrial identifications, the exclusionary rule, privacy, probable cause, reasonable doubt, and those rights guaranteed by the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments.

Prerequisite: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in CRMJ 2120  or instructor approval.
