SOC 1150 - Sociology of Sport Credits: 3 Students investigate the institution of organized sport from a sociological perspective. Students examine the ways sport is a microcosm of society as well as how sport creates, reproduces and changes society. Students examine how common sociological concepts such as stratification, discrimination, norms, mobility, violence, and social structure are evidenced in professional and amateur athletics.
