GEOG 1220 - Introduction to Geospatial Technology Credits: 3 This course provides an introduction to Geospatial Technology with a primary focus on geographic information systems (GIS) and an overview of related technologies such as remote sensing (RS), global positioning systems (GPS), and other emerging technologies. Students learn concepts and employ the hands-on use of technologies to create, manage, analyze, and map geospatial data in the context of various application areas such as business, public safety, health, environment, engineering, agriculture, natural resources, and natural and social sciences.
Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 0810 or equivalent placement and familiarity with a Windows-based computer operating system.
