GEOL 1035 - Geology of Yellowstone National Park Credits: 3 Students explore the geologic processes and features of the greater Yellowstone and Grand Teton geo-ecosystem including: earthquakes, landslides, glacial and stream processes, geothermal features, and other geological structures, processes, and hazards. This course involves daily hikes of at least 4-5 miles on uneven terrain. All activities will be conducted outdoors where temperatures may be cold and precipitation likely. This course is only available to registered students who are at least 18 years of age; limit to 13 students. It is recommended that students registering for this course have had some previous exposure to an Earth science class or experience. A course fee will be assessed for reservation of lodging, food, transportation, and entrance fee into parks.
