HLED 1221 - Standard First Aid and CPR Credits: 2 In this comprehensive program, students are trained to act in emergency situations and recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies. Students learn skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives. Students are trained in adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as well as in the use of an automated electronic defibrillation device.
