Art, AA

The AA in Art program is designed for students who wish to explore and prepare for a wide range of career options in visual arts. Completing this program may qualify students for a variety of employment in visual art fields, including as entrepreneurs, designers, educators, and artists. This program offers coursework intended to transfer to a four-year university, allowing students to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Marketing, or Education. The program also provides students with skills to establish meaningful self-employment in the Art field.

Competencies

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Develop knowledge of studio studies, practice, and experiences.
  2. Establish methods of historical inquiry, critical thinking, and analysis in visual arts.
  3. Develop knowledge of medium(s), technologies, and equipment.
  4. Synthesize skills, materials, theory, and history, into personal understanding of moral and ethical issues in visual arts.
