Cybersecurity, AAS

The Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity degree prepares students for a career as a cybersecurity professional by providing them the knowledge and skills needed to defend information technology assets. Students develop and apply skills in intrusion prevention, analysis, response, and remediation to safeguard information while earning industry recognized certifications by vendors such as CompTIA, Cisco, and Microsoft.

Competencies

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the context of computer technology.
  2. Apply information security techniques to defend business assets from loss.
  3. Demonstrate effective management of operating systems in relation to security techniques and considerations.

  • Completion of Network Administrator (CCNA) Credit Diploma.
  • Eligible to sit for COMPTIA Security + and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) industry certifications.

Transfer Information

This degree is well suited for those who may be interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science, Applied Management degree at Laramie County Community College.

LCCC courses may transfer to institutions in addition to those with formal articulation agreements. Students are strongly encouraged to determine the degree requirements and transfer policy of the specific college/university and program to which they plan to transfer.
